Pop artists Meghan Trainor and the Jonas Brothers joined the winners’ circle at the 2023 Streamy Awards on Sunday (August 27), celebrating the past, present, and future of internet culture.

“About That Bass” singer Trainor was named for the first time as the Rolling Stone Sound of the Year winner. Upon receiving her award, she gave a sweet acceptance speech during which she cheered for her children, including her newborn.

According to representatives, acknowledging the unique impact of music on content creation on social media and its “echo within popular culture,” Trainor won the award for “Made You Look.”

“Made You Look” reached Number 11 on last year’s Billboard Hot 100 and topped Billboard’s Adult Pop Airplay chart. Her son Riley assisted in boosting her music’s profile on social media platforms including TikTok, where the track remained a major trend throughout its chart run. The announcement of “Made You Look” was shortly followed by Trainor sharing her pregnancy news with the world, accompanied by a heartwarming photo featuring her alongside her second child.

In the streams, the Jonas Brothers—Kevin, Joe, and Nick—won in the crossover category.

Among the night’s viral hip-hop performers was Armani White, who blended “Billie Eilish” and “Silver Tooth,” and Swedish dance-pop duo Icona Pop, who performed their 2012 smash “I Love It” alongside their new single “Fall in Love.”

Streamy winners include Fanum (Breakout Streamer, Lifestyle); Kaycee Sent (Streamer of the Year, Lifestyle); MisterBeast (Creator of the Year, Collaboration); and Vivan Medrano (Animated, Streamy Creator Honor).

The Streamy Awards, created by Dick Clark Productions and Tubefilter, celebrate content creators in beauty, comedy, food, gaming, music, podcasts, and sports, with its seven-time host, MatPat, being one of its winners.

The ownership of the Streamys lies with Penske Media Eldridge, which is an auxiliary company of PMC (Penske Media Corporation) and a joint venture between PMC and Eldridge Industries. PMC is the parent company of Billboard.
